The Prophecy of Justice: Amos chapter 1

All throughout the world our people suffer inequality, oppression, and injustice. Ecclesiastes 4:1 “So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.” Often those in power do not rectify the situation, also those that seek retribution are disappointed. Their hope of comfort is deferred and within they ask will there be any way to receive justice. What is the solution? Is it in the political structure, or courts? Undoubtedly the justice of man is blind, but with the Heavenly Father there is no perverting of judgment. In the first chapter of this book, the most High spoke to the prophet Amos of punishments that he will not turn away against those who harmed his people. Now we could read of those prophecies (punishments) that have been fulfilled as history. Except for one, that is yet to come upon those that enslaved our people. Amos 1:2 “And he said, The LORD will roar from Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the habitations of the shepherds shall mourn, and the top of Carmel shall wither.” If those in the past were punished, it is a matter of time that this too shall come to pass.
