\nEarlier\nchapters of this book, undoubtedly\ninforms\nus\nof\nthe Messiah (Christ) directly.\n Matthew\n2:15<\/strong>\n\u201c<\/em>And\nwas there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which\nwas spoken of the Lord by the <\/em>prophet, saying, Out of Egypt\nhave I called my son<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d <\/em>Some\nbackground is needed to understand what this verse is speaking of,\nHerod was seeking to kill Christ as a child. Joseph being warned,\nfled to Egypt until the death of Herod. Matthew\nquoted the prophet Hosea which some find troubling. Hosea\n11:1<\/strong> \u201cWhen\nIsrael <\/em>was<\/em> a child, then I loved him, <\/em>and\ncalled my son out of Egypt<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/em>\n A popular argument by those\nthat do not believe in Christ is that Hosea was not talking about\nChrist. Instead\nthey contend\nthat he was referring only\nto the\nnation of Israel when they came out of Egypt in Moses time period;\nignoring the obvious mentions\nprior to this chapter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

H<\/strong>osea\n11:2<\/strong> \u201c<\/em>As<\/em>\nthey called them, so they went from them: they sacrificed unto\nBaalim, and burned incense to graven images.<\/em>\u201d <\/em>The\nfollowing verse shows indeed that Israel were called out of Egypt. \nHowever they went to graven\nimages, therefore losing the right to call themselves sons of the\nliving God. See, Hosea\n1:9-10<\/strong><\/a>. Our\nhead, the Messiah is the reason we could return the Heavenly Father. \nPlease read, Hosea\n3:5<\/strong><\/a>. After\nbeing given such mercy, we should not throw it away by making our\nhead into a graven image. True\nbelievers will not find it difficult to defend the Messiah in his\nword. But those that follow images will not be blameless, in fact\nthey will be the cause that some of the little ones will be confused.\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How\nis Matthew justified in using this scripture as a prophecy of Christ?\n Hosea 12:10<\/strong>\n\u201cI have also spoken by the prophets, and I have\nmultiplied visions, and<\/em> used similitudes, by the ministry\nof the prophets<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/em> \n A similitude is the likeness\nbetween Israel being called out Egypt and Christ. In other words the\nprophets wrote scriptures that were parables or allegories to convey\na message. Right within the book of Hosea we are shown that Matthew\nis completely justified. More importantly being filled with Holy\nSpirit he was able to concisely explain that Christ is the Son of\nGod, as many prophecies have stated. \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel\n7:13<\/strong> \u201cI saw\nin the night visions, and, behold, one like the <\/em>Son<\/strong><\/em>\nof man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of\ndays<\/em> [the most High],\nand they brought him near before him.\u201d <\/em>Verse\n14:<\/strong> \u201cAnd there was given him <\/em>dominion, and\nglory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should\nserve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not\npass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed<\/strong><\/em>.\u201d<\/em>\n \n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
