And he answering said unto him, <span class=\"wj\">Thou sayest <span class=\"add\">it. <\/span><\/span>  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V3\">3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And the chief priests accused him of many things: but he answered nothing.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V4\">4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And Pilate asked him again, saying, Answerest thou nothing? behold how many things they witness against thee.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V5\">5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V6\">6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Now at <span class=\"add\">that<\/span> feast he released unto them one prisoner, whomsoever they desired.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V7\">7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And there was <span class=\"add\">one<\/span> named Barabbas, <span class=\"add\">which lay<\/span> bound with them that had made insurrection with him, who had committed murder in the insurrection.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V8\">8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And the multitude crying aloud began to desire <span class=\"add\">him to do<\/span> as he had ever done unto them.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V9\">9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release unto you the King of the Jews?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V10\">10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V11\">11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But the chief priests moved the people, that he should rather release Barabbas unto them.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V12\">12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And Pilate answered and said again unto them, What will ye then that I shall do <span class=\"add\">unto him<\/span> whom ye call the King of the Jews?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V13\">13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they cried out again, Crucify him.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V14\">14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Then Pilate said unto them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more exceedingly, Crucify him. <\/div><div class=\"p\"> <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V15\">15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And <span class=\"add\">so<\/span> Pilate, willing to content the people, released Barabbas unto them, and delivered Jesus, when he had scourged <span class=\"add\">him,<\/span> to be crucified.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V16\">16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And the soldiers led him away into the hall, called Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V17\">17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they clothed him with purple, and platted a crown of thorns, and put it about his <span class=\"add\">head, <\/span>  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V18\">18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And began to salute him, Hail, King of the Jews!  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V19\">19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing <span class=\"add\">their<\/span> knees worshipped him.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V20\">20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And when they had mocked him, they took off the purple from him, and put his own clothes on him, and led him out to crucify him.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V21\">21\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they compel one Simon a Cyrenian, who passed by, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear his cross.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V22\">22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they bring him unto the place Golgotha, which is, being interpreted, The place of a skull.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V23\">23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they gave him to drink wine mingled with myrrh: but he received <span class=\"add\">it<\/span> not.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V24\">24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V25\">25\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And it was the third hour, and they crucified him.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V26\">26\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And the superscription of his accusation was written over, THE KING OF THE JEWS.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V27\">27\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And with him they crucify two thieves; the one on his right hand, and the other on his left.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V28\">28\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And the scripture was fulfilled, which saith, And he was numbered with the transgressors.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V29\">29\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they that passed by railed on him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ah, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest <span class=\"add\">it<\/span> in three days,  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V30\">30\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Save thyself, and come down from the cross.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V31\">31\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Likewise also the chief priests mocking said among themselves with the scribes, He saved others; himself he cannot save.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V32\">32\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe.
