\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. 2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips. 3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>A stone is<\/span> heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool\u2019s wrath is<\/span> heavier than them both. 4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Wrath is<\/span> cruel, and anger is<\/span> outrageous; but who is<\/span> able to stand before envy? 5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Open rebuke is<\/span> better than secret love. 6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Faithful are<\/span> the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are<\/span> deceitful. 7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. 8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is<\/span> a man that wandereth from his place. 9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth<\/span> the sweetness of a man\u2019s friend by hearty counsel. 10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thine own friend, and thy father\u2019s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother\u2019s house in the day of thy calamity: for<\/span> better is<\/span> a neighbour that is<\/span> near than a brother far off. 11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me. 12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>A prudent man<\/span> foreseeth the evil, and<\/span> hideth himself; but<\/span> the simple pass on, and<\/span> are punished. 13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman. 14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him. 15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. 16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which<\/span> bewrayeth itself. <\/span> 17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. 18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured. 19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>As in water face answereth<\/span> to face, so the heart of man to man. 20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied. 21\u00a0<\/a><\/span> As<\/span> the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is<\/span> a man to his praise. 22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet<\/span> will not his foolishness depart from him. 23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and<\/span> look well to thy herds. 24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For riches are<\/span> not for ever: and doth the crown endure<\/span> to every generation? 25\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. 26\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The lambs are<\/span> for thy clothing, and the goats are<\/span> the price of the field. 27\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And thou shalt have<\/span> goats\u2019 milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for<\/span> the maintenance for thy maidens. <\/div>
