To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Deliver me, O LORD, from the evil man: preserve me from the violent man; <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Which imagine mischiefs in their<\/span> heart; continually are they gathered together for<\/span> war. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>They have sharpened their tongues like a serpent; adders\u2019 poison is<\/span> under their lips. Selah. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from the violent man; who have purposed to overthrow my goings. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The proud have hid a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set gins for me. Selah. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I said unto the LORD, Thou art<\/span> my God: hear the voice of my supplications, O LORD. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, thou hast covered my head in the day of battle. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked: further not his wicked device; lest<\/span> they exalt themselves. Selah. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span> As for<\/span> the head of those that compass me about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them. <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let burning coals fall upon them: let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits, that they rise not up again. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth: evil shall hunt the violent man to overthrow him.<\/span> <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and<\/span> the right of the poor. <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. <\/div>
