To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.<\/span> <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with<\/span> all my ways. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For there is<\/span> not a word in my tongue, but,<\/span> lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span> Such<\/span> knowledge is<\/span> too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain<\/span> unto it. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>If I ascend up into heaven, thou art<\/span> there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.<\/span> <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span> If<\/span> I take the wings of the morning, and<\/span> dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are<\/span> both alike to thee. <\/span> <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother\u2019s womb. <\/div>
14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and<\/span> wonderfully made: marvellous are<\/span> thy works; and that<\/span> my soul knoweth right well. <\/div>
15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and<\/span> curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. <\/div>
16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members<\/span> were written, which<\/span> in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was<\/span> none of them. <\/div>
17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! <\/div>
18\u00a0<\/a><\/span> If<\/span> I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee. <\/div>
19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. <\/div>
20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For they speak against thee wickedly, and<\/span> thine enemies take thy name<\/span> in vain. <\/div>
21\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? <\/div>
22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. <\/div>
23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: <\/div>
24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And see if there be any<\/span> wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. <\/div>
