To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hold not thy peace, O God of my praise; <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me: they have spoken against me with a lying tongue. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>They compassed me about also with words of hatred; and fought against me without a cause. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For my love they are my adversaries: but I give myself unto<\/span> prayer. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Set thou a wicked man over him: and let Satan stand at his right hand. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>When he shall be judged, let him be condemned: and let his prayer become sin. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let his days be few; and<\/span> let another take his office. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg: let them seek their bread<\/span> also out of their desolate places. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let the extortioner catch all that he hath; and let the strangers spoil his labour. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let there be none to extend mercy unto him: neither let there be any to favour his fatherless children. <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let his posterity be cut off; and<\/span> in the generation following let their name be blotted out. <\/div>
14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered with the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out. <\/div>
15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let them be before the LORD continually, that he may cut off the memory of them from the earth. <\/div>
16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart. <\/div>
17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>As he loved cursing, so let it come unto him: as he delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from him. <\/div>
18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>As he clothed himself with cursing like as with his garment, so let it come into his bowels like water, and like oil into his bones. <\/div>
19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let it be unto him as the garment which<\/span> covereth him, and for a girdle wherewith he is girded continually. <\/div>
20\u00a0<\/a><\/span> Let<\/span> this be<\/span> the reward of mine adversaries from the LORD, and of them that speak evil against my soul. <\/div>
21\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But do thou for me, O GOD the Lord, for thy name\u2019s sake: because thy mercy is<\/span> good, deliver thou me. <\/div>
22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For I am<\/span> poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me. <\/div>
23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I am gone like the shadow when it declineth: I am tossed up and down as the locust. <\/div>
24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh faileth of fatness. <\/div>
25\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I became also a reproach unto them: when<\/span> they looked upon me they shaked their heads. <\/div>
26\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Help me, O LORD my God: O save me according to thy mercy: <\/div>
27\u00a0<\/a><\/span>That they may know that this is<\/span> thy hand; that<\/span> thou, LORD, hast done it. <\/div>
28\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let them curse, but bless thou: when they arise, let them be ashamed; but let thy servant rejoice. <\/div>
29\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let mine adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion, as with a mantle. <\/div>
30\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. <\/div>
31\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him<\/span> from those that condemn his soul. <\/div>
