A Prayer of the afflicted, when he is overwhelmed, and poureth out his complaint before the LORD. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto thee. <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hide not thy face from me in the day when<\/span> I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when<\/span> I call answer me speedily. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and<\/span> they that are mad against me are sworn against me. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping, <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Because of thine indignation and thy wrath: for thou hast lifted me up, and cast me down. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My days are<\/span> like a shadow that declineth; and I am withered like grass. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But thou, O LORD, shalt endure for ever; and thy remembrance unto all generations. <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Thou shalt arise, and<\/span> have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, is come. <\/div>
14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For thy servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof. <\/div>
15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory. <\/div>
16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory. <\/div>
17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer. <\/div>
18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD. <\/div>
19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; <\/div>
20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death; <\/div>
21\u00a0<\/a><\/span>To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem; <\/div>
22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD. <\/div>
23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days. <\/div>
24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are<\/span> throughout all generations. <\/div>
25\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are<\/span> the work of thy hands. <\/div>
26\u00a0<\/a><\/span>They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed: <\/div>
27\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But thou art<\/span> the same, and thy years shall have no end. <\/div>
28\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee. <\/div>
