To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, A Psalm<\/span> of David. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication. <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise; <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then<\/span> would I fly away, and be at rest. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Lo, then<\/span> would I wander far off, and<\/span> remain in the wilderness. Selah. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and<\/span> tempest. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Destroy, O Lord, and<\/span> divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city. <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are<\/span> in the midst of it. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Wickedness is<\/span> in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For it was<\/span> not an enemy that<\/span> reproached me; then I could have borne it:<\/span> neither was it<\/span> he that hated me that<\/span> did magnify himself<\/span> against me; then I would have hid myself from him: <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But it was<\/span> thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. <\/div>
14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>We took sweet counsel together, and<\/span> walked unto the house of God in company. <\/div>
15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Let death seize upon them, and<\/span> let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and<\/span> among them. <\/div>
16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me. <\/div>
17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. <\/div>
18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was<\/span> against me: for there were many with me. <\/div>
19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God. <\/div>
20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. <\/div>
21\u00a0<\/a><\/span> The words<\/span> of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was<\/span> in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were<\/span> they drawn swords. <\/div>
22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. <\/div>
23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee. <\/div>
