To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is<\/span> ever before me. <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this<\/span> evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and<\/span> be clear when thou judgest. <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part<\/span> thou shalt make me to know wisdom. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Make me to hear joy and gladness; that<\/span> the bones which<\/span> thou hast broken may rejoice. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy<\/span> free spirit. <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span> Then<\/span> will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. <\/div>
14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and<\/span> my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. <\/div>
15\u00a0<\/a><\/span>O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. <\/div>
16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it:<\/span> thou delightest not in burnt offering. <\/div>
17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The sacrifices of God are<\/span> a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. <\/div>
18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem. <\/div>
19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar. <\/div>
