To the chief Musician, even<\/span> to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. <\/div>
\r\n 1\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me. <\/div>
2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even<\/span> from good; and my sorrow was stirred. <\/div>
3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then<\/span> spake I with my tongue, <\/div>
4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that<\/span> I may know how frail I am.<\/span> <\/div>
5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Behold, thou hast made my days as<\/span> an handbreadth; and mine age is<\/span> as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is<\/span> altogether vanity. Selah. <\/div>
6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Surely every man walketh in a vain shew: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heapeth up riches,<\/span> and knoweth not who shall gather them. <\/div>
7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is<\/span> in thee. <\/div>
8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish. <\/div>
9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because thou didst it. <\/span> <\/div>
10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Remove thy stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of thine hand. <\/div>
11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is<\/span> vanity. Selah. <\/div>
12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am<\/span> a stranger with thee, and<\/span> a sojourner, as all my fathers were.<\/span> <\/div>
13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go hence, and be no more. <\/div>
