thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord <span class=\"add\">which<\/span> thou lettest down?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V2\">2\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Canst thou put an hook into his nose? or bore his jaw through with a thorn?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V3\">3\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Will he make many supplications unto thee? will he speak soft <span class=\"add\">words<\/span> unto thee?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V4\">4\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Will he make a covenant with thee? wilt thou take him for a servant for ever?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V5\">5\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Wilt thou play with him as <span class=\"add\">with<\/span> a bird? or wilt thou bind him for thy maidens?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V6\">6\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Shall the companions make a banquet of him? shall they part him among the merchants?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V7\">7\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Canst thou fill his skin with barbed irons? or his head with fish spears?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V8\">8\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Lay thine hand upon him, remember the battle, do no more.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V9\">9\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Behold, the hope of him is in vain: shall not <span class=\"add\">one<\/span> be cast down even at the sight of him?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V10\">10\u00a0<\/a><\/span>None <span class=\"add\">is so<\/span> fierce that dare stir him up: who then is able to stand before me?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V11\">11\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Who hath prevented me, that I should repay <span class=\"add\">him? whatsoever is<\/span> under the whole heaven is mine.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V12\">12\u00a0<\/a><\/span>I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V13\">13\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Who can discover the face of his garment? <span class=\"add\">or<\/span> who can come <span class=\"add\">to him<\/span> with his double bridle?  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V14\">14\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth <span class=\"add\">are<\/span> terrible round about.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V15\">15\u00a0<\/a><\/span> <span class=\"add\">His<\/span> scales <span class=\"add\">are his<\/span> pride, shut up together <span class=\"add\">as with<\/span> a close seal.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V16\">16\u00a0<\/a><\/span>One is so near to another, that no air can come between them.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V17\">17\u00a0<\/a><\/span>They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V18\">18\u00a0<\/a><\/span>By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes <span class=\"add\">are<\/span> like the eyelids of the morning.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V19\">19\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Out of his mouth go burning lamps, <span class=\"add\">and<\/span> sparks of fire leap out.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V20\">20\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as <span class=\"add\">out<\/span> of a seething pot or caldron.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V21\">21\u00a0<\/a><\/span>His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V22\">22\u00a0<\/a><\/span>In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V23\">23\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V24\">24\u00a0<\/a><\/span>His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether <span class=\"add\">millstone. <\/span>  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V25\">25\u00a0<\/a><\/span>When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V26\">26\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V27\">27\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He esteemeth iron as straw, <span class=\"add\">and<\/span> brass as rotten wood.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V28\">28\u00a0<\/a><\/span>The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V29\">29\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V30\">30\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Sharp stones <span class=\"add\">are<\/span> under him: he spreadeth sharp pointed things upon the mire.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V31\">31\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He maketh the deep to boil like a pot: he maketh the sea like a pot of ointment.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V32\">32\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He maketh a path to shine after him; <span class=\"add\">one<\/span> would think the deep <span class=\"add\">to be<\/span> hoary.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V33\">33\u00a0<\/a><\/span>Upon earth there is not his like, who is made without fear.  <span class=\"verse\"> <a name=\"V34\">34\u00a0<\/a><\/span>He beholdeth all high <span
